We had some awesome visitors on Thursday. These two youngsters came for a hot breakfast while their mom is backpacking across Europe for the summer. And we still don't know who the guy with the beard is shoveling food in his mouth like he just got back from some trek experience or something. Well, that is all for this week. . Moore, Medical Director of the Acute Rehabilitation Unit of Dixie Regional Medical Center, gave a presentation explaining his work and the work done at The Acute Rehab Unit. He explained that the work of that unit is to restore function to the patients who have come to
the unit after a life changing event such as a stroke, a broken hip, or a spinal cord injury. He brought with him Lindsay Pugmire, Physical Therapist and Steven Wallenfels, Occupational Therapist. These gentleman spoke about the Interdisciplinary nature of the work of the unit in that the entire focus for physician, nursing and therapy is the Whole Person. Marla also invited Mitchell Cloward, Operations Officer of Dixie Regional and Ted Hugunin, Director of the Therapy Services at Dixie Regional who were able to answer other hospital and therapy related
questions as well.
