How is your Self Defense?

Welcome to the 642nd meeting of the Rotary Club of Dixie Sunrise!

Nothing like having a cup full of Self Defense to go with your eggs and toast.

This morning we were pleased to have Purple Gecko's Coach Day (Akai Tora Sensei) who is an 8th Degree Black Belt and 37th World Grand Master of Southern Shao Lin Shadow Tiger, a world-wide martial arts system. He is the acting President-CEO of Purple Gecko, LLC, a national corporate training firm. His self defense programs have been seen on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and PBS. He has directed youth and adult martial arts programs for the United Way Boys and Girls Clubs of America including an elementary gang intervention program. He is a full time corporate speaker, trainer, coach and motivator teaching Zen, self defense and the power of positive living. Coach Day and his wife are the parents of 9 children.

Purple Gecko's presentation was very informative and entertaining. Following Japanese lessons from Hal and other members of the HOG table, Coach Day was able to inform us on routine safety habits we all should implement to better protect ourselves and our properties.

Mark M. gave his best try with the 'numb chucks' & caused little or no injury to the Abbey Inn's decor as well as all of us. All in all it was a great meeting leaving all of us better informed about how we can better protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our properties. Also, we found out that Hal's Japanese sucks, and never ever call Mark M. for back-up!!!

(Let us not forget the stealthy fist-hidden-in-the-beard defense!)
